Hi All,

Well I haven't been too well this week, think I got a chill coming from work last Friday. I walked down to the chemist for my prescription without a coat as I was too warm, well it was short lived...... I was freezing on the way back. Then I had lots of running around as my dad is in hospital. I have had a really sore throat and today I wakened with NO VOICE the comments from my family have been so funny. They keep telling my to speak up or just having a laugh that I can't answer back.Smile Never mind I am glad it's not as sore now that the voice has disappeared.

I will just have to rest it and whisper very little. Hope everyone is feeling better now the sun is shining. Smile

Take care Lorna x

Hope you feel better soon, Lorna - it`s so frustrating when your voice goes. It`s doubly annoying for me as my dad is very deaf, and will shout down the phone at me - " You`ll have to speak up Kathleen, I can`t hear you!" It`s like a pantomime!!

Take care,

Kathleen x

Dear Lorna,
Sorry to hear about your sore throat and now no voice!
I have had two episodes of no voice and I know how frustrating
it can be, especially if you are a chatterbox like me!
Anyway, wishing you a speedy recovery!
Kind regards,
FionaHuh

Hi All,

I now have a very sore eye, I was in so much pain last evening with it, I was pacing the floor early hours of the morning. My voice is starting to come back but it's still very croaky.

Please all say a little prayer for my dad, he is not too good at the moment and it is a real worry for all of us. I hadn't been up to the hospital for a few days as I was ill, but I got quite a shock at the weight he had lost.

Thankyou for the kind words.

Lorna xx

Oh Lorna, it seems to be one thing after another at the moment. Do hope your eye settles quickly and your voice returns to normal soon. So sorry to hear about your Dad being poorly; will be thinking of you all and hoping you will see an improvement in the coming days.

Don't forget to look after yourself too,

HI Again,

Well today I went to the hospital to see my dad, he has been asking about me. I still have a very gruff throat but my eye is settling down, it's not nearly as red and painful as it was.

Anyway the hospital jaunt....... I went round and round the car park, up and down the street and managed to park at the bottom of the road leading uphill to the hospital. The car park and street around was mobbed. It took me 30 minutes to get to the ward to see my dad then I stayed a while and had to allow myself the same time to get back to the car, as I needed to get home to pick up my daughter for a doctors appointment......... Only to discover it's tomorrow. I felt I walked/jogged miles today. I thought today was the 1st of Feb.

Dad is very poorly at the minute, this weekend had been never ending, my phone is red hot and I have been so upset with all the worry about my dad. But today he has gained just a little weight around his face which has pleased me no end. He is at the moment so thin and frail and has lots going on. Every little improvement is a bonus, we are waiting on results, just now and it seems like forever. It's so good he is starting to eat, as it's showing almost immediately, but we still have a long way to go. Someone is listening to my prayers.

I was shattered when I got home, I lay down and slept for a while. My daughter is working this evening so I have to be awake to pick her up later.

My Older daughter is flying home on Wednesday, so it will be lovely to see her and have her support as well. My girls are all so protective of me, they will not let me see how worried they are about their Grandad.

Hoping to to the bearer of very good news very soon.
Thank you for all your replies, it means so much.

Lorna xx
